Relatively flat for a long ways from Round to just past the lean-to, then a slow ascent to the slide, then a bitch of a climb to the summit (but relents a bit when arriving at the crest). We had a hot day so it was nice to hike alongside the river and refill when needed (thought not much water after the slide crossing before the final push). The trails to the summit are steep and challenging to climb. It’s difficult but never felt too dangerous though. It’s better to turn around and fight another day in that type of terrain. we had the summit with it's beautiful 360 degree views to ourselves. The next .5mi or so is extremely steep and makes for a hellish trip up. There was no urgency to start early, the days are still long right?
